GEOS Montreal School & Staff![]() Manager's Message Warm greetings from GEOS Montreal! On behalf of all the staff and students, I am very proud to welcome you to our city and to our school.Montreal is a great city to learn English, French, or even both languages at one time. The city is famous for its European culture, its architecture, natural beauty and international festivals. Canada’s second largest city, Montreal is devoted to fun and pleasure, and its central location in North America, close to many other North American centers, makes it an ideal place for a “language, culture, adventure” experience.
Like the international and cosmopolitan city it calls home, GEOS Montreal is also a mixture of students and staff from all over the world. With no nationality making up more than 20% of the full-time student population, you are sure to meet new friends from all over the world.
As a certified member of Languages Canada and the CLC, and a member of GEOS North America and the GEOS International group of schools, we are registered with the Federal Government of Canada, and the Government of Quebec, and our teaching methodology and standards are top-notch.
Our administrative staff and teachers are motivated by the idea of offering excellent service, from the moment we first hear from you, to your choice of courses, accommodation options, visa questions, trip preparations, airport pickup, first day of school, counseling sessions, course evaluations, graduation ceremony, and finally to your departure from our beautiful city. Your education, satisfaction and happiness are our reason for being.
Come learn English or French with us, experience Canadian and Quebecois culture, and live an adventure in one of the world’s great cities. You are very welcome.
GEOS Montreal StaffBorn in Halifax, Nova Scotia, on the east coast of Canada, Manager Uri Carnat has lived in Montreal for 17 years and happily calls the city home. His background is in education, having taught in Montreal for a number of years before starting his career in educational administration. He has been lucky enough to travel to many of the countries from which our students come, and appreciates both the opportunities of international travel, and the challenges it presents to all of our students. His great joy is in helping students with their adjustment to the country, the city, and the school. You just might get a free English lesson as well.
As a former GEOS student, Audrey Malgras-Serra fell in love with GEOS and Montreal and is now our new Marketing Coordinator. She is responsible for marketing tasks and school activities, and is always pleased to help students. With a Master's degree in European Tourism Management from the Bournemouth University (England), she found her place at GEOS where her interests in different cultures, foreign languages, tourism and marketing can be met.
Billy Barbier is Montreal’s Program Coordinator. He is responsible for creating partnerships with local businesses and informing the general public about the school on line and in person. He also assists other departments within the school. GEOS Montreal is the perfect place to marry languages and education which are part of his background. Born and raised in Montreal, he can help students find their way around the city and help make their stay in the city a memorable one! With experience in second language learning and teaching, our new Academic Coordinator Meehye Seong has understanding for both worlds. She works closely with the teachers and students to make sure that everyone has great experience at GEOS Montreal. She is responsible for our classes in general and hiring of new teachers. Born and raised in South Korea, she appreciates the cultural diversity that GEOS Montreal has to offer and can't wait to meet our new students from all over the world. Yasumitsu Hashimoto, alias Yasu, is at GEOS as a register, and he enrolls new students. His major task is to prepare necessary documents for the students to start on requested dates. It has passed a few years in Montreal, and this interesting multi-cultural city made him decide to settle down here from his country, Japan. This city has completely different face in summer and winter, and he hopes GEOS students enjoy amazing moment through the year in the city and at GEOS Montreal. Hello, my name is Sayaka Sakakibara. ![]() Montreal is a charming and elegant city in which many different cultures join and become one. Just by living in it you get a new perspective of the world around you and a better understanding of your own culture. GEOS has also been an important part of my experience here. I've learned a lot, not only from my amazing teachers but also from my classmates. I've made a lot of friends, and even though I haven't been here long, my English has improved so much. I think that coming to Montreal and studying here is one of the best decitions I have ever made. Rosalba Marquez Mexico |
