We have a couple of new French and English teachers as we added more classes during summer and needed extra help in our academic side.
Our French teacher Mr. Mostafa who has been teaching French for 2 years now in Montreal, will have a second baby.
Please find below an introduction of one of our English teachers.
"Hi there! My name is John Mackey. I'm originally from Ireland and I just moved to Montreal three months ago. Before coming to Canada I worked as an English and Geography teacher in Galway, Ireland. Like many of the students in GEOS I love to travel, meet new people and explore new cultures. Working at GEOS allows me to combine all my interests in a really fun, friendly environment and teaching classes here is very rewarding and exciting. When I'm not working I love to play sports (especially rugby), have barbeques, read biographies and explore this great city. If we haven't already met come say "hi", I'd love to have a chat!"
Hi, my name is Areli and I from México. If you want to learn a new language, meet people around the world and have fun at the same time, I invite to you come to Montreal. While you being here you can travel to Toronto, Ottawa, Quebec and see the beauty of Niagara falls. Also I have met friendly people and learning about many cultures being at GEOS. Everyone give you his/her friendship. GEOS is a good school to learn English or French, the teachers and staff are kind. If you decide to come, you don’t regrets about the choice.

The first Friday of the month, the students went all together to a famous event in Montreal, Mode and Design festival. They had a chance to look at runway models walking down the catwalk.
The second Friday, they went for a bike tour, along the old port and the Lachine Canal. It was sunny, warm and very pleasant for all our students who discovered the wonderful places that are not accessible by foot.
They also had some activities to enjoy on Saturday, they went to the Botanical Garden and enjoyed the beautiful landscapes of different types of gardens: the Japanese Garden, the Chinese Garden, the Botanic Garden.
The following Friday, they went to the Museum of Fine Arts to visit the Jean Paul Gauthier exhibition. So interesting and so close from the school. Just have to cross the street.
They finish the month with a nice picnic on Mont Royal, where the students just hanged around the lake, played badminton, soccer and just relaxed while enjoying the panoramic view over the city.
Our students had different and interesting outdoor activities for the month of August! For more information about our past or upcoming activities, please visit Our Activities Calendar page or talk to our new activities coordinator,Pablo!
