Tiffany Candlish who taught at our school for a few weeks, is taking over Meehye 's function. She is indeed our New Academic Coordinator. Welcome on board! She is introducing herself below:

“I’m really excited to join the GEOS Montreal team. After living in Seoul, South Korea, for more than 5 years,  as a teacher and freelance writer, I returned to Montreal last year. Living abroad was a formative and exciting experience for me, which  helps me understand what it is like to be a new place. I have travelled all over Asia and North America, as well as in  Africa and Europe. I hope to help our students get the most of  their academic careers while enjoying in cross-cultural exchanges, both in and out of the classroom.  In my free time I run and do yoga, to which I welcome students and staff to come along!"

GEOS Montreal would like to present a few big events.  Our lovely Meehye Seong is leaving us to go back to South Korea. Tiffany is then taking over her functions. We also have a couple of new teachers: Aurore Chateigner, Virginie Wintzinger-Gerard and Rakshinda Khan. Our former intern Anais was replaced by Rustem Lutfullin, who is actually a former student who studied in the school for over 6 months. Before becoming our intern, Rustem was already kind of part of GEOS team. Now, he helps us with some administrative tasks and with student activities. Rustem is introducing himself below:

« Hi, my name is Rustem. I am an intership student. I finished my English course, now i am working in Geos. With English i was opened new ways in my life. In a future i am going to study in university.»

The International Jazz Festvial is the largest Jazz festival in the world and is anually attended by over 2 million people. There are more than 500 concerts offered in 10 days. The first edition was in 1980 with an attendance of 12,000 people and has grown to be better each year.

School Activities

Our students participated in nice activities in June. The first weekend, they went to taste different  beers coming from all around the world at the beer festival. The second weekend, they went to listen French speaking music at the festival called Les Francofolies. The following Friday, they went to play soccer in a park to stay in the atmosphere of the Fifa World Cup. Finally the last weekend, they went to enjoy the most popular Jazz festival in the world: The International Jazz festival in Montreal.

They are just so many activites in Montreal that it is always hard to choose only one activity by week. However, even if the school organises one activity every Friday, our students always go by themselves, in group, and enjoy these big events that lasts a couple of days, weeks or even months  like the international des Feux Loto Quebec.

The school was closed on June 24th because it was our National Fest. Students could enjoy the scroll  in the street, all the shows and kiosks.

In order to be informed on our activities, you can always check our calendars on our website http://www.geosmontreal.com/activities.

What is happening in July in Montreal?

July is like June and August, full of events. However, I have to pick a few ones. So I would like to emphazise the Festival International Montreal en Arts (July 1-11)(http://www.festivaldesarts.org/) with about 300 artists from everywhere. then we  have the Just for Laughs Festival (http://www.hahaha.com) from July 2-25. This festival shows many different comic shows.  Then the Fantasia Film Fest (http://www.fantasiafestival.com) from July 8 to 27. If you are curious about these festivals and some more, come to Montreal!
