Work as a Teacher for GEOS Montreal

GEOS Language Academy, Montreal, is a great place to learn English and French. It is also a great place to work and to teach. GEOS offers a very professional working environment, solid administrative support, professional facilities and resources, and training/advancement opportunities. With schools around the world, GEOS Montreal also offers you the ability to travel and teach throughout our network of English and French schools.

GEOS Montreal's English and French programs are certified by Languages Canada. According to this certification, all of our teachers must be certified by TESL Canada, meaning that they must possess a Bachelor's Degree and a teaching certificate in ESL or FSL from a certified institution.  Or, they must have attended, and be able to document, that their TESL program contained at least 100 hours of theory and 20 hours of practicum.  Unfortunately, teaching experience in another country can not replace these criteria.

If you have both a Bachelor's Degree and a ESL/FSL teaching certificate, you may send your CV to academics@geosmontreal.com (for English teachers) and to pedagogie@geosmontreal.com (for French teachers). You may also certainly drop off your CV in person at the school - we will be happy to greet you - but we are not able to meet individually with potential teachers who do wish to visit.

GEOS Montreal generally has an orientation session for potential teachers once per month. We call in qualified candidates for a short meeting to discuss the school, the company, and current teaching opportunities. After that, we invite teachers for a short 20-minute model lesson, followed by an interview. Although we do receive many resumes from teachers currently living and working in other cities and countries, we are not able to hire directly without this model lesson and face-to-face interview.

If you are interested in teaching English for GEOS Language Corporation in Japan, you may visit www.geos-career.com.

If you are interested in the JET program, feel free to contact or visit the school as we have this information available, sent to us by the Japanese consulate in Montreal.  Our Evening Japanese program is a great way to study and learn Japanese in preparation for your trip to Japan.

GEOS Language Corporation has more than 550 schools around the world, located in 16 countries. Last year, GEOS schools in North America taught more than 8,000 international students over 60,000 weeks of language instruction. GEOS Canadian schools are certified by CAPLS, the Canadian Association of Private Language Schools, and we are a certified trainer of Emploi-Quebec.
